The National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, @macbarnett , caused a little controversy after saying 94.7% of children’s books are “crud.” 😂 My daughter and I love Mac’s book. I’m not offended in the slightest. I feel it’s a call to make sure I level up! First, I wondered who decides what crud is? It should be the kids right? So, then I wondered if Rosie the Horse made the sacred 5.3%. If this reel is any indication, I’m gonna let the kids decide. 🤠🐴 Because there is no age group harder to keep the attention span of than a gym full of 4-12 year olds 😂! Happy Mother’s Day! I’m so thankful my mama came to Texas to see us today. Ty spoiled us and makes me feel appreciated and loved every day. We all had the best brunch. My mama helped Oakley make this dress for me last year. It’s so special with all her little drawings. Thank you Mama for teaching me how to be the best Mama by setting your example. You are so loving, fun and a true caretaker. I’m so lucky you raised me!! I love you so much! I’m also blessed with a wonderful, loving mother in law who treats me like her own!! Being a Mama is the most special gift I could ever imagine. I feel like I was put in this earth to be Oakley’s Mama and Kase’s step mama. It’s life changing and life giving for me. Pete and I have so enjoyed my Rosie the Horse books to students all over! One of my favorite things is feeling the kid’s excitement and enthusiasm as they inch closer and closer to Pete and me! It’s so sweet! They hang on every word and it’s so fulfilling! This was my first time talking to a class of middle grade students about my life growing up in a small SC town and career path.
