Turkey (or Ham) Sliders

These sliders are so delicious & so easy. Perfect for parties, get togethers, school functions, football games, or just mealtimes with the family. These are a great idea for leftover Thanksgiving turkey, or ham, but they are so delicious you’ll want to make them more than once a year. I ask the deli to slice the roasted turkey at a size 5, then it taste like leftover Thanksgiving turkey.

Hawaiian buns are delicious with the recipe, soft and a tad sweet. To make them healthier, look for a whole wheat bun of your choice.

Tips

You want to slice the whole 12 pack of buns in half with a serrated bread knife. Don’t pull apart the individual buns. You will have two solid slabs of buns. You will cut them apart after they bake. This makes it quick and easy to assemble the sliders.

Cover the sliders with foil while baking and remove for the last 3 minutes of cooking time. This keeps your buns softer.

Mustard, Mayo or Both?

The mustard butter spread on top of the buns is delicious but doesn’t have a strong mustard flavor. In additon, I recommend adding dijon mustard and mayo on your sliders before baking. However, if you don’t like mustard or mayo just leave it off!

Can you make these ahead or reheat them?

Yes to make ahead, go ahead and assemble the sliders, but don’t bake them, and refrigerate. When you are ready to bake them brush the mustard butter on top, cover with foil and bake. You may lose some of the softness in the buns by refrigerating them but they are still delicious.

You can reheat them by covering with foil and heating in a 350 degree oven until the cheese has remelted. They are just as delicious reheated.
