This is a perfect side dish and a way to upgrade your canned carrots. Sure, you can slice and boil fresh carrots, but sometimes I need something quick and I don’t always have fresh carrots in the fridge. I always keep canned carrots in my pantry for a healthy side dish.
Each serving only has an added 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and butter so you’re getting the tasty stuff in moderation!

An easy way to upgrade your canned carrots.
Ingredients
2 (14.5 oz) cans of sliced carrots
2 packed tablespoons of brown sugar, honey or maple syrup
2 tablespoons of butter
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon optional*
Dash of salt and pepper
Directions
- Drain carrots and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a small skillet or pot or medium high heat.
- Stir in the brown sugar or honey, butter, salt, pepper and cinnamon in using.
- Stir in the carrots.
- Let cook for about 3-5 minutes until the sauce has reduced to a glaze.
