Mama’s Chocolate Chip Cake (The Best)

This cake is simply the best! It’s sooo moist, decadent and packed with chocolate chips. It’s our favorite cake Mama makes!

Mama Dukes (yes my Mama is a real Mama Dukes) made every single birthday cake for my two sisters and I growing up. She would decorate them and they didn’t look like a perfect bakery decorated cake, but they looked better and tasted better! I would take her homemade cakes with the perfect imperfections over any professionally decorate cake.

As we grew up we started requesting this Chocolate Chip Cake for our birthday instead of a traditional birthday cake.

Ya’ll it is SO good!!!

Variations

This cake is easy to make variations too.

  • Try vanilla pudding instead of chocolate.
  • Try lemon pudding and mix in dried or fresh blueberries instead of chocolate chips.
  • Try coconut pudding with flaked coconut.
  • Try pumpkin pudding & add some cinnamon.

  1. Thanks for sharing this. It looks amazing I just made my daughter a Dr Pepper cake and she says she’s not sharing with her kids !!

  2. Can you use these Ingredients and make cupcakes?

    • I haven’t tried that but I bet so! Just bake them shorter time until a toothpick comes our clean!
